Realistically Speaking. . .

1. Supposedly Claire dropped out of the Pittsburgh Ballet for a few years and then came back to dance perfectly, like a prima ballerina. Is that possible? Dancers always talk about how much they need to practice or attend class every day to maintain their skills.

2. Is she really going to sleep on that uncomfortable couch? Doesn't she need a good night's rest?

3. How did the ballet dancer/stripper get that gorgeous loft apartment? That's millions of dollars of Manhattan real estate. I don't care how successful she is at the strip club; she couldn't afford that place unless she's an heiress or has a boyfriend in the mob.

4. Who washes a beautiful silk tie in a sink? She's not familiar with dry cleaning?

5. Doesn't her toe really, really hurt?

Maybe I seen to many All the Things Wrong With videos. . .

She eventually buys a mattress later.

Daphne's father is apparently very wealthy which is revealed when Paul & Jessica approach her for financial help when their benefactor decides to cease his support.

In reply to number 1, she did keep taking classes. She mentioned to her roommate that she cleaned her studio in Pittsburgh in exchange for classes during the day. So she hasn't just been sitting around for three years.

In regards to 1. it states she left the PB, not that she stopped dancing in entirety
3. Her father is very rich, it's mentioned in the first episode and several times later
5. yes, her toe does really hurt, its part of her self-harming. she can clearly cope with physical pain more than emotional (as many people can) and the blinding pain of her foot helps her block out her emotional distress as well as being a self-punishing action. its no differnt to something like cutting, its her release

2. She buys a mattress in future eps.

3. Daphnes father is fantastically rich. (In a later ep he's apparently looking into buying a Caravaggio for his summer house.)
