Did Paul Know?

I'm a little confused by the scene between Paul and Claire when he implies that he knows why she left the Pittsburgh ballet and that people "know" things in small towns. Was he implying that he knew about the pregnancy or that he knew the father was her brother? And if so to the latter, how would he or anyone else know that except Claire's and Brian's father? Also, why didn't Claire at least tell a partial truth and admit that she got pregnant and had to take time off, but she put the baby up for adoption and now she's back?

Watching this scene, I personally could not be 100% certain exactly what Paul knew. One would think that it would be unlikely that anyone knew about the incest....people generally don't suspect something so perverted and "taboo" - unless Claire's Pittsburgh colleagues saw Bryan (or Bryan and Claire together) and picked up on a strange vibe. It's entirely possible, though, that Paul either knew or received the "gossip" about the pregnancy. It's also possible that Paul was faking at least some of his "knowledge" in order to intimidate Claire.

This would seem to be the more likely answer. Being the supreme a-hole that he is.

I think he didn't know, because on episode 8, he asks her to tell him. maybe he partially knew, but was sure there was much more to the story for her to be so dark.
