Feminists are offended by this series?

So, I find this hard to believe. Then again, much of the news emanating from the Western Hemisphere is unbelievable these days.
I don't go out of my way to seek pro-feminist entertainment, nor do I consume much generally, but this struck me as mighty feminist.
So how can it be that a show about feminine protagonists, heroines and perverted male tyrants and incestuous rapists, about a genius female choreographer and a jaded and disturbed ballet director, about female empowerment and success, should so irk their sensibilities?

I'm a feminist and I wasn't offended at all. Nearly every lead is female, most of the side characters are female with their own story lines that aren't connected to relationships. What is to be offended by? It was a fantastic show and I saddened that it's not getting another series.

Dean and I do share a more profound bond. I wasn't going to mention it - Castiel

I'm glad it's only a limited series, more shows need to be that way. Have a beginning and great ending that makes sense - not unnecessarily extend it.

I'd like more, please. The kind of feminists, IMO, who would be offended by this program would not be watching it in the first place.

Yeah, I haven't heard what the OP is referring to. One of the themes of the show is how various men are trying to use the protagonist, whether it's Brian for sex, the strip club boyfriend to feel like a white knight, or Paul to live the dancing he can no longer do. The last line of the season is a great feminist F you to all those guys.

Unless Alpert's covered in bacon grease, I don't think Hugo can track anything.

Not sure where you are getting that "feminists are offended by this series". I'm a feminist and I didn't get the memo...

True. Western feminism is one of the 20th century's foulest ideologies.

So "all feminists" are offended. Wow, this wasn't mentioned at the last secret feminist meeting. Maybe I missed it when I went to the bathroom?

What is your evidence that "feminists" are offended by this? I don't see any.

I'm sorry but after watching the first episode of Flesh and Bone--- how do you cast this show in a feminist light? Flesh and Bone is to feminism what the TV show Revenge is to Macbeth. The longest screen time devoted to choreography was the pole dancing scene, which actually and with a straight face tries to convey that the ballet dancer lives in a $18-million Manhattan condo cause she's moonlighting as a stripper/lapdancer.
