Is Lance Reddick's career all about these small appearances he has in different shows?
Is there an actual show where he is once of the starring characters?

shareChief Irving is one of the starring characters. Have you been paying attention?
shareAbout 2 minutes to episode. They call that a cameo.
shareOf the hundreds of screen credits over the seven seasons, only four names appeared in all 68 episodes and he is one of those. Four more than Maddie and more than double than Det. Jimmy. I'd even argue that in ten years the show will be remembered most for two things: its iconic use of L.A. locations and its countless shots of chief Irving staring ominously ahead while rolling up his car window. Actually, add a third: the most meteoric drop in quality over the course of a show over fewer than ten seasons.
shareThrowing metrics at me ... well then, go and figure out how much screen time they all got and rank them by screen time - or connection to the main plot threads. I agree with you on the quality dribbling off, and Bosch himself getting old and fat .... and what was with all those f-ing tattoos?
shareOff the top of my head, he seemed to be Bosch's consistent main foil, outside of the actual BGs, and there was that one season where they teamed up in their "off the books" operation, so he could easily be called a co-star for at least that season. Not "the star," but certainly easily "one of the starring characters." I'd even throw out his "hot from the front, not from the side" GF romance and crisis baby sub-plots that were total filler. :)
Not sure how Titus partaking in the aging process got here, and didn't notice him letting himself go like Val Kilmer or Jon Favreau did, but I did read that he only has one tattoo on each arm, so the rest is assumedly make-up for the character. Maybe to make him look more "bad-ass?" Not a tattoo guy myself, but then again I never found any design I felt remotely confident I'd still want on my skin in five years, let alone twenty.
Since this seems more your crusade, so I'd assume you'd want to do the work to back up your claims. I have no interest in doing so, but would be happy to do it for $50/hour. Reckon could get a good ballpark for each character well within eight hours apiece, likely less for some by scrubbing through episodes.
He was one of the starring characters in The Wire. That show had a very large cast but he was definitely one of the starring characters and he did a great job.
He's definitely also one of the main characters in Bosch.
He was ubiquitous and great in The Wire, so I expected more from his career.
He was in Lost as well.
But he really did not appear that much in Bosch.
I haven't seen Lost so I can't comment on that.
It's so funny though how different people see things differently because to me, he was in Bosch quite often and his role was an important one.
In looking at his IMDB profile, he seems to be keeping very busy, which is good because he's a very talented actor.
I did not say his role in Bosch was unimportant, just that it was more or less a bit part. But, they did follow the arc of his career which was good.
