Where can I buy the music (soundtrack) from this show?

Absolutely adore this show but know nothing about classical music. I fear I may have a new addiction.

not sure about the soundtrack but if you are looking for classical music start with the basics in itunes. Beethoven, Bach, Haydn, Tchaikovsky, Mahler, Liszt, Chopin, Schubert, Schumann, and of course Mozart.

If you have SiriusXM satellite radio I highly recommend Symphony Hall channel 76.

I have hundreds of channels to choose from in my radio package and literally only listen to the news, alt nation, and symphony hall. and siriusly sinatra. ha.

I am sure you are already aware of this, but for the OP this list includes a very wide variety of music. The music of Mozart, for example, is wildly different from Tchaikovsky (or any of the Russians) which is different from Liszt, etc...

So it kind of depends on what you are thinking you might like. If you are into chamber music that would be one thing.

You can always start with some well know pieces. These might be too well known for many but just starting they can help ease you into that world.

Holst's "The Planets" - I dare you to listen to "Mars, Bringer of War" and not get your blood stirring.

Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture - this is the piece they play during the free concert and one of the most bombastic bits of classical music ever written. If you can find it get the Mercury Wing recording. If not, at least get a piece with real brass cannon and real carillon.

Beethoven's 5th and 9th Symphonies - the 5th, of course, has the most well known musical phrase in the world, and the 4th movement of the 9th is often called "The Ode to Joy" (because of the use of Schiller's poem the Ode to Joy as part of the Recitative) and considered by many to be close to perfection. In fact, as the rumor goes Mahler refused to name his 9th symphony "9th Symphony" to avoid comparisons with Beethoven's and so call it "Das Lied von der Erde" (The Song of the Earth). And it helps to read about the pieces, too. The 4th movement starts with the idea of "let's play a new song" and strings begin to reprise the 1st movement, and the brass come in and break it up. The strings begin the second movement, and again the brass break it up. Ditto the third movement. Then a single brass begins to thoughtfully play the musical refrain of the fourth movement and bit by bit the entire symphony joins in and brings it up to joyful noise.

Strauss' "By the Beautiful Blue Danube" or just simply "The Blue Danube" to give you a taste of the Viennese waltzes.

Mozart's "Eine kleine Nachtmusik", or A Little Night Music, but really I love everything by Mozart. Even his operas are wonderful.

Which brings us to Mahler. They played some Mahler in the show but I don't think Mahler is for people starting out in classical music. Just my opinion.

Vivaldi's The Four Seasons - good introduction to chamber music.

I think the individual episodes here on IMDB list some of the works. You can also Shazaam any pieces you like to find out what they are.

You can find a better list per episode on tunefind.com.

You can buy the mp3's on Amazon at this link:

Unfortunately, Amazon's list only includes a small portion of the tunes used in the show. As mentioned previously, TuneFind has much more information:

I stream the show to my Apple TV using the Amazon app on my iPhone.

During the show, when a piece of music starts playing the iPhone screen (not the Apple TV screen) shows a popup of the album artwork, which you can then buy from Amazon of course. I'm not sure if it shows the exact recording playing on the show but at least you can identify the work.

There are also popups with bits of trivia and so forth.

Nice! A very helpful use of second-screen capability.

I love the music in episode 6 of S2 with the Mexican orchestra that Rodrigo and his mentor conducted. What was that?

Was it not listed on TuneFind?

According to the Mozart In The Jungle playlist on Amazon Music, that piece is Danzon No. 2, played by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra;)

Most people will not admit that they like classical music. That's not reality. If people dign't like classical music then how do you explain the popularity of Francis Ford Copolla's and Segrio Leone's films 0 two very operatic directors.

And if listen carefully you can hear classical music everywhere. For example, Adele used Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata as the music to one of her biggest hits. She added lyrics to it and had it played an octave faster but it's there.

If you were to own one piece of classical music, this should be it.
