Season finale (spoilers)
So what was that all about the last few scenes where Rodrigo seems to be recalling that night with Hailey? Was he regretting it?
shareSo what was that all about the last few scenes where Rodrigo seems to be recalling that night with Hailey? Was he regretting it?
shareI felt like it was deliberately ambiguous. In her apartment he appears happy but when he's reflecting on the evening he doesn't smile but rather seems contemplative.
It could be that he is realising the enormity of what's happened between them, especially considering his Grandmother's prediction that they are essentially soul mates.
His Grandmother did mention that there would be anger and confusion in their relationship and not love straight away so my guess is that, if there is a season 4, things won't necessarily run smoothly for them.
Just saw the season finale. Makes me think... My first thought is that Rodrigo had started a relationship with the "bank girl" and had cheated on her with Hailey.
But of course there has to be a season 4! The show is wonderful! :)
Ooooo good point - I'd forgotten about her. Guess we will have to wait and see.
shareYeah thats pretty spot on.
Lose the Game!!!!!!!
His grandmother predicted they would have children together....who can forget that?
I did a lol when he asked her season 3 to have his child after repeatedly saying he needed to talk to her.
I'm rooting for them as a couple. Always have been.
I Love this show. Season 3 was strong in beginning. I felt like everyone was lost for a few episodes...best episode was season 3 finale. I just really don't want to wait a YEAR to find out what's next.
There will be another season of course but the focus on the relationship will have to dominate because there really isn't a lot of room for the show to grow. I assume Hailey will at some future point become pregnant (Mexican Abuelita predictions are never wrong ;-) ) but I doubt Rodrigo will remain monogamous before that time. Not very original but the show doesn't have a lot of time left to resolve what took three seasons to build up to.
shareI was wondering the same thing. I thought it seemed like regret or at least discomfort with the situation.
shareI thought it was almost like a, "what now," kinda look. He clearly is conflicted about it. When you have that much build up and tension the reality rarely matches up to the fantasy or chase. Even if it was good for both of them, it was a big step for their relationship and for someone like Rodrigo who's always been pretty frivolous with sex and love....maybe he's finally realizing, he's crossed a line even he isn't sure he can come back from or understand quite yet.
I'm sure there will be drama there, as is the usual, but yes, we cannot forget the abuela's prediction! Unless they intend for that to be a red herring of sorts, we got to keep that in mind as they obviously shoehorned in that bit of info for a reason.
I never even thought he might have started something with the bank lady. I got that they had a little something there (who doesn't with him, right, hah), of course, but thinking something already happened between them before he and Hailey hooked up is...yikes! Maybe they will both go off and have flings again with other people, maybe they'll even just try to keep it an open relationship or friends with benefits sort of thing, only to come back around to the fact that they should just be together and all that.
We'll see, indeed! I just hope it doesn't end up feeling dragged into the ground, as these sorts of story lines can tend to end up being.
