"Global Box Office, 1st Five Movies
DCEU: $3.6 billion & counting
MCU: $2.3 billion
source: BoxOfficeMojo
Fun Fact: 2 of the first 5 MCU movies grossed more than $500 million, the DCEU is 5 for 5.
DCEU: Consistent success"

"If his intention was to reveal DC's failures with A-List billion dollar properties and how Marvel took C list characters and practically grossed the same amount...mission accomplished. 😐

Doctor Strange looks set to have made more than the friggin Justice League.

Remember, Batman was able to make 1 billion from one film before the DCEU came along. Now Justice League doesn't look like it will reach 700 million and Man of Steel (their first film!) will outgross it.

Imagine the first Avengers making less than Iron Man 1.

Not a good plan"

"The MCU has had consistent success with each of its trilogies (Cap, Thor, IM) showing growth in box office with each sequel. And these are characters that were largely unknown prior to the MCU.

WB, on the other hand, has had some success, sure, using characters that are the most iconic superheroes in the world. But it followed up its most successful film so far, WW, with a relative box office dud that is going to leave a taint (crude jokes welcome here) on their currently most popular character.

WB needs its own Kevin Feige and needs its numbnuts studio execs to leave the directors alone. Until these things happen, they are going to continue to have ups and downs and not consistent MCU-like success"

Funny thing is I watch both cause I like superhero movies in general and don't pick sides. I just know I didn't enjoy JL as much as I did Thor:R.

Congratulations on WB/DC's relative financial success on their first 5 DCEU or DCCU movies. Too bad GL won't get invited to the celebration.

WB/DC is still making money but having a bit of a much lower return on their Dollar for Dollar investments. Firings and reassignments were due because of poor to mediocre financial performance. That has meant job openings for new faces.

Oh yeah, Geoff Johns was already Kevin Feige.

Cheers to the DCEU!! Wait, does that even exist anymore?

Of course, no one mentions....

first 5 MCU movies had a total production budget of 780 million
first 5 DCEU movies had a total production budget of 1 billion 99 million

And none of that counts marketing.

I think you dropped your mike. :-)
