I wouldn't like to see a Flash reboot. The 80's movie is so iconic [for many reasons] it would be bound for failure.
I dunno...early social media reaction looks quite positive for Justice League. It sounds like it's going to be a crowd-pleasing smash.
I agree that the 1980 Flash Gordon could never be bettered by a reboot.
the reviews are a mixed bag. The characters are fleshed out more this time, but the script seems to have a lot of problems.
The thing that bothered me the most [besides the forced injection of attempts at humor... a la Marvel] was the obvious Quicksilver scene [Flash running on the wall and using his finger to put WonderWoman's sword at her reach]. I kind of understand it, but they really need to show him do different tricks.
The 1980s movie is pretty fun as an intentionally campy spoof, but the 1930s Buster Crabbe serials are much better, and the gold standard that any new Flash Gordon movie should try to live up to.
