The Lullaby

Anyone else know EXACTLY what was going to happen during that bit?

The instant Thor started sauntering up, saying "Hey, Big Guy," I copped a giant grin because I knew both that the lullaby would fail and Thor would get rag-dolled like Loki, just because that seemed like the funniest and most fitting way for the scene to play out.

Doesn't help I've been watching and rewatching both "Ultron" and "What We Do in Shadows" a lot recently. It just seemed like such a Taika-esque gag.

EDIT: Good point about Loki's reaction, TwistedAcrobat - that was probably another tip-off (I just didn't register it consciously)

So I had to laugh when I noticed how Thor was doing it all wrong: still armed with a giant hammer, walking straight up confidently where Natasha approached Hulk tentatively and at an angle, and of course Natasha herself is likely the only one Hulk trusts enough to relax (as proven when her face and voice alone are enough to bring back Banner).

The "sun's getting real low" line is even accompanied by the same soundtrack cue from "Ultron," along with a close-up of Thor's reassuring grin

Maybe I'm too easily amused, but I thought their battle played out a lot more effectively than the trailers had led me to believe.

I will miss the Mjolnir visuals & sound effects, though. But I think MCU's probably right if they think it's a played-out gimmick.

I had a suspicion that it would play out as it did when he said "hey big guy" specially because as soon as Loki saw Hulk he said "I have to get out of this planet" and on the trailer there's a bit of him saying "that's how it feels like".

But it was such a great scene, specially because of Thor's innocent grin at that moment.

The entire theater burst in laughter when the music was cued and some people applauded the thrashing. It was well done.

Another scene that people laughed a lot was when Bruce fell flat on the ground and later when Hulk decided to attack Surtur and his "big monster" line.

There was chuckle when Odin said "are you Thor God of Hammers?"

All in all it was a cool movie to watch.

Right, the "Big Monster" thing was another nice surprise for me - the previews made it look like some epic confrontation (and Hulk did manage to knock Surtur off balance), when it really played out as irritation all around - Surtur irritated at the interruption, Thor irritated at Hulk's single-mindedness, and Hulk irritated that he can't go on "winning."

eheh, Hulk jumping on to kick Surtur's ass made me laugh hard. all I could think was "aawww shit" lol
