The Lullaby
Anyone else know EXACTLY what was going to happen during that bit?
The instant Thor started sauntering up, saying "Hey, Big Guy," I copped a giant grin because I knew both that the lullaby would fail and Thor would get rag-dolled like Loki, just because that seemed like the funniest and most fitting way for the scene to play out.
Doesn't help I've been watching and rewatching both "Ultron" and "What We Do in Shadows" a lot recently. It just seemed like such a Taika-esque gag.
EDIT: Good point about Loki's reaction, TwistedAcrobat - that was probably another tip-off (I just didn't register it consciously)
So I had to laugh when I noticed how Thor was doing it all wrong: still armed with a giant hammer, walking straight up confidently where Natasha approached Hulk tentatively and at an angle, and of course Natasha herself is likely the only one Hulk trusts enough to relax (as proven when her face and voice alone are enough to bring back Banner).
The "sun's getting real low" line is even accompanied by the same soundtrack cue from "Ultron," along with a close-up of Thor's reassuring grin
Maybe I'm too easily amused, but I thought their battle played out a lot more effectively than the trailers had led me to believe.
I will miss the Mjolnir visuals & sound effects, though. But I think MCU's probably right if they think it's a played-out gimmick.
