When watching Thor 3, I couldn't help but think of Lust from Fullmetal Alchemist. Hela's attacks, moves, sexiness, fair complexion with dark accents, long spear-like weapons, etc. Probably a much better rendition than the upcoming live-action (uggh).
i'm quite curious about the live action FA.
The American adaptation of Death Note was atrocious though. The Japanese one, though not on par with the anime/manga, is still much better.
Dragon Ball Evolution was an abomination
I kind of almost enjoyed the Attack on Titan one. A lot was missing and the finale was kind of ... huh?
Ghost in the Shell had close to nothing to do with the original.
Gantz was pretty good though, the end differs from the manga. But it was actually kind of interesting in its own way.
Battleship Yamato was actually well done, for what it is. Could be better, but it told the story nicely.
Bleach is also getting the American treatment as it seems. God help us.
My main complaint about the live action adaptations is that they try to tell the same story as the Manga instead of doing a self contained plot. It falls short in that department. I would prefer the live action to tell a 1 part, 2 part or 3 part arc instead. The characters can still be introduced nicely without sacrificing a chunk of screen time.
