Could Dmitri still be alive?

As my message says, is it possible that Dmitri is still alive? I find it a bit odd that his supposed death happened off-screen.

Did you write tonight's script?!?!?!

I felt it coming for a while now, but I even felt stronger about it tonight when they took the time in the "previously on..." to remind us about Dmitri being taken by the Russians.

It was one of those cases of "there must be why are they reminding us once again who Dmitri was".

I've long said, one of the television 10 Commandments is

Unlesseth, onscreen, thine head rolleth away from thy torso, thou shall not be deemed truly dead.

Wise words indeed.

The Dimitri Dick is ALIVE!!!

A little cliff-hanger, Madam Secretary-style. Can't wait for next Sunday. To see what happens, followed by series finale of "The Good Wife".

I thought yesterday's episode was the season finale! Correct me if I am wrong.

Hope so !!!!!

I have a feeling he is alive.

He's worth a lot more to the Russians alive than dead. He will have been beaten, tortured even, but kept alive for future use...as in the spy swap hinted at.

I knew he couldn't be dead. I really hoped they lied about it and they did. I just hope that they are willing to make the switch with the other guy. Getting Dimitri and his sister into the US would really be great especially with Henry.

Spoiler spoiler - I found the hostage exchange especially touching when he and Henry embraced, but why did he spit at Henry's feet and then see Elizabeth and hug
him? Any guesses ?

I think Dmitri will always blame Henry for making him a spy and having to endure what he had to go through. And he thinks that Henry can never keep his promises and considers him as an object. His first reaction when he saw him at the was to make him realize "I owe you nothing, I'm not going to ease your conscience and be grateful". Then he saw Elizabeth and probably realized that Henry had to intervene and beg POTUS himself to have him free. I guess Dmitri has mixed feelings towards Henry: he sees him as a symbol of American imperialism that can buy and control anything but also as a father figure who can protect him when necessary. Since Henry has failed him several times but also helped him on many occasions, Dmitri hesitates between his admiration for his professor and his rejection against his master.
