I Never Noticed Tim Daly's Effeminacy Until This Show

It may just be highlighted in contrast to Tea Leoni's masculinity?

reply

They are dating in real life. If Tim's got a feminine vibe that I'm missing and it gets him someone as hot as Tea, I'm starting hormone treatment tomorrow.

reply

Not surprised they're attracted to each other. The polarity is there; reversed, but there.

reply

LOL...LOVE that reply! :)

reply

Love it.

reply

I think Tim is HOT!! I can't believe he is 60 years old. He looks so much younger. I'm sorry that Tea and David Duchovny broke up but Tim and her make a beautiful couple

ya seriously... just looked that up now... pretty surprising.

reply

I never thought of it until you mentioned it....Tea is very masculine in many ways

reply

Masculine or powerful?

reply

She does have a gangster walk.

reply

What is a "gangster walk"?

reply

Yes they could both pull a Bruce Jen...Oh wait, Leoni is already a gal.. 😱

reply

Tea HOT???? I need my glass's... I guess there are people who get attracted to a 'masculine' portrayed women....ie...Joan Crawford type.

reply

I think she is beautiful for her age and she has a great body with nice legs.

reply

flat chested.

One of the flattest Hollywood chests this side of ...Debra Messing..and maybe Juliet Lewis

reply

That's because she presumably has natural breasts.

Who's that black actress who won an Oscar for "12 Years A Slave"? Lupina N'Yongo or something like that. She's built like Olive Oyl.

She and I are the same age and I would love to look that good.

reply

yeah, I thought Joan was hot in movies like 'Strange cargo" sure...but I found out she smoked, and also drank like a fish, put me off..

reply

They do seem to be making him the sensitive one, Washing dishes, teaching, doing the cooking. She walks in and kisses him after work. Reversal of roles I would say. I wonder how long before his handler starts to fall for him.

reply

Lol my step-dad does these chores sometimes, and he's the most 'manly' man I know.

Now you mention it though, his handler's quite masculine too.

reply

You know...that's correct. Jill Hennessy is playing a character that is usually played by men. Just as Henry is doing things usually done by wives. Tea has a habit of slightly dipping her right shoulder on her first step also after she desends from stairs. I should have said she swaggers a bit.

reply

Back in the 1990's TV series Wings, Tim Daly's character was always the more "mother hen-type" brother to Steven Weber's character.

reply

What a childish thread.

My wife started her own business and works long hours. I work construction 9 to 5. It's me dropping off and picking up the kids and getting dinner because they're my kids and it's my home and my responsibility just the same. There is nothing wrong with a husband and father stepping in just like the mother/wife has done since the beginning. If you think that makes a person less of a man then that really says a lot about you.

reply

Yes, I agree shakensanity!!! This thread is ridiculous and insulting to both men and women. Children can only benefit from equally involved parents. Your kids are really fortunate!

reply

I agree shakensanity!
Men who participate in child care are excellent fathers and husbands.
Men who leave the children to the care of their mothers and prefer to be macho are insecure and need to PROVE their masculinity!
I think a few people here are jealous , you know? Tim Daly is really handsome. And talented.and very masculine .
And Tia Leoni is feminine in her own way.
I am a little amused at the "attitudes" here!

reply

shakensanity,

Less of a man? What the hell does that mean? Do yourself a favor and go find yourself an asexual safe space.

I did not invent the term -it exists and has probably existed since the the first man and woman existed.

I can't stop laughing!!!

reply

It annoys me so much that this thread title pops up on the imdb page for this show. MRA types are always complaining about "doofus dads" on tv. Here's a dad character who is the opposite of that -- competent and caring in both his professional and personal life, intelligent and capable, and these weenies call him "effeminate". It's ridiculous. You're so right.

reply

shelwood46,

MRA types? LMAO!!!!

reply

yes, I think only David Duchovny could actually aspire to handle that Amazon..

reply

I think that Tea attracts some very handsome men. David Duchovny and Tim D are both good looking.

reply

Old topic, but I have to chime in.

See Tim's acting career. He voiced Superman in the Superman Animated Series and many DC animated movies.

Superman is in no way effeminate.

Oh my, a man looks after domestic duties. He must be a girly-man!
