Parallels with Secretary Clinton?
Why can't The writers come up with a show that parallels the Secretary Clinton vs Donald Trump situation, in disguise of course? Too tough for them?
shareWhy can't The writers come up with a show that parallels the Secretary Clinton vs Donald Trump situation, in disguise of course? Too tough for them?
shareToo obvious... the show already looks enough like an in kind campaign contribution to Hillary... can't be more overt than they already are...
shareI have to disagree that it's a "campaign contribution" or plug for Hillary Clinton at all.
For me, it's more "Wouldn't it have been great if Hillary Clinton had been half as good as Secretary of State as this fictional character, who has a background, family life, marriage, etc. that is as far removed from Hillary's as possible?" If anything, this show should make people question Hillary Clinton's performance as SoS, where she comes up sorely lacking--and then some--compared to a fictional character. Sort of "Geez, too bad we couldn't have had someone so forthright, ethical, and intelligent. Instead, we got Hillary Clinton."
trixie30, You put into words exactly what I was thinking. Good job!
"Do you prefer my normal method of conflict resolution?": Dexter
I agree - Trixie, you spoke my mind!
shareThe fact remains that this show served as propaganda for Hillary.

Whatever it was intended to be, it seems more like propaganda for Trump to me.
Imagine Elizabeth McCord running an email server in her basement, or something like that. Based on the high regard for morality and security shown in Madam Secretary, people probably were able to contrast that with the real Secretary of State. Trump was probably elected because fewer Democrats voted and this show might have clarified the issue very well for people.

Do you have proof for that claim?
Seeing as last I checked Clinton did not have a background in Intelligence and didn't serve for a Republican president.
"The fact remains that this show served as propaganda for Hillary."
It's a fictional tv show, how is that a fact?
Propaganda is typically not factual. The fact that the show is fictional is not inconsistent with the possibility that it is propaganda. I do however disagree that we know for sure either way.
shareAnd that's what I was saying. There's no factual proof that this show has anything to do with Clinton.
shareThere's no factual proof that this show has anything to do with Clinton.Yet that is not what you said. Saying it this way is clear, the other way was muddled. share
This is what I wrote:
"The fact remains that this show served as propaganda for Hillary."-from poster I was responding to.
It's a fictional tv show, how is that a fact?-my response
In what way is that muddled?
What reliable evidence is there that it is intended to be propaganda from Hilary Clinton? Without reliable evidence, it is opinion intended to influence the opinions of others, and that is what propaganda is.
shareThen that would make every fictional show-propaganda. Which is true to a point. But there's nothing that associates this show with Clinton, except she's a blond working in the White House. And none of that is an answer to my question-what is muddled about my response to another poster?
shareThe fact remains that this show served as propaganda for Hillary.
I would say Elizabeth is nothing like Hillary Clinton since unlike the former first lady, senator, and secretary of state, Elizabeth is an honorable woman who does her best to manage her work life and spending time with her family.

EXACTAMENTE. "Geez, too bad we couldn't have had someone so forthright, ethical, and intelligent. Instead, we got Hillary Clinton."
😩😱😒
Hillary hit her physical and intellectual peak back when she was a Goldwater girl. Tea Leone is still holding up, which Hillary, with her cough, and reported physical problems is not. Outside of pants suits, there's actually very little that the two characters have in common. Elizabeth had an outside life as an academic and a CIA analyst, so she actually did something, and was completely independent in her jobs from her husband. Hillary seems to have gotten her jobs, prior to Bill becoming governor of Arkansas, largely as the result of his influence. As First Lady of Arkansas she was a political cypher. The position of FLOTUS requires nothing greater than sitting home, baking cookies, and looking nice at state dinners. When she tried to step out of that sphere with Hillarycare, it was a total disaster. Her tenure as a carpetbagging senator for NY was unremarkable, and her tenure as Secretary of State was a flop. So there's no resemblance between her and Elizabeth.
How does Elizabeth McCord compare with Madeleine Albright?
shareYou're taunting the writers for not doing something they never intended to do?
shareThey did one episode totally mirroring the Benghazi fiasco with Hillary, following those events closely. In the real Benghazi, the young ambassador chose to take over post refusing a full marine guard, Hillary was against it but it was his decision. The GOP wasted 3yrs of our time trying to pillory Hillary, the real fact was conservative GOP had cut back funding so severely on all diplomatic missions, it's one of the biggest jokes trying to blame Secretary Clinton .
ps: so Donald Trump was going to see Hillary in jail, so where did that go? More BS, but that's politics, I just gave u the true facts
