It is so unnecessary to have a show about lesbians just because there are Modern Family and The New Normal center around gay men.
Ellen should make sure the script is as good as Modern Family before she green-light One Big Happy.
I don't think there's a lesbian main character because other shows have gay men as main characters. The show isn't evenabout lesbians, it's about male & female best friends who decide to have a child together then the guy elopes with a woman he just met. The female friend being a lesbian is a plot device to help explain why she doesn't have a kid with another guy and eliminate the classic love triangle. I doubt they'd move toward her being attracted to her friend, but there's certainly jealousy involved.

Yeah. Like the other person replied - the show isn't about lesbians. It's about 2 best friends who make a pact to have a baby together if they aren't married by 30. As the female gets pregnant, the guy meets the sexy brit that he marries. They all live together.
Super lucky guy, with a sexy wife and a hot baby-mama on the side.
So the show isn't about lesbians. It's 1 character of the 3 that happens to be lesbian. You know, there are lesbians in society. Heck, I have a Lesbian that lives 2 houses from me.
