At the end when its revealed that Bucky had killed Starks parents, Tony asks Cap if he knew how they died and he replied yes.
How did Cap know this as it happened in 91 and if he did know then how did he only know how they died and not by Bucky?
It is sort of a plot hole

Also the brain wash, they don't point Tony to the fact that it was not Bucky but Winter Soldier who did those killings
Not a plot hole. Arnim Zola showed Cap all the things Hydra had been doing as part of SHIELD in Winter Soldier

shareWhen Cap confronts Arnim Zola, there are flashes of newspaper clippings and things around the room. One of those clippings mentions the death of Stark's parents. I don't think he knew it was Bucky at that time but he probably found out between movies since he got a dosier from Black Widow at the end.

The fact that Cap knew is inexcusable and it doesn't get nearly enough attention. Cap is never allowed to be wrong in these movies and it's annoying as Steve is.
Inexcusable how? He learned 25 years after the fact that Bucky had been brainwashed and murdered Tony Stark's parents. What good comes of him sharing this information with Tony, or anyone else?

"Hope one day you can understand."
That doesn't sound like "I am wrong" to me, especially when he aided and abedded Bucky.
Sparing himself when he THOUGHT he was sparing Tony ... to Steve Rogers, THAT's an admission of error
Steve isn't the type to spare his own feelings over those of his friends. Admitting he did so here was an admission of guilt
I'll concede that reasonable minds can differ on this point tho
When Black Widow released all the files it was in there. But that doesn't say why though Jarvis didn't tell Tony. Although that would be thinking and I suppose Jarvis only answers a question asked.
shareI think my biggest issue with this is that it wasn't well developed in Civil War. Meaning, we all can assume and put together that at some point between Winter Soldier and Civil War Steve found out. But we never see any scenes where Steve has to deal with knowing this information. He sees Tony regularly and had to look him in the face knowing what his friend did and this never gave him any conflict? and it's only brought up until Tony finds out at the end? It looked good to have that be the straw that broke the camel's back for the epic fight at the end but it didn't feel as earned to me. If we had SEEN Steve ask Bucky about it, have a scene with Tony about it, or anything showing us Steve knew then it wouldn't have been such a problem. Instead it was this little piece of information left for the audience to figure out in between the lines and I don't think it was a good choice on the writers part to make.

I honestly think all Steve knew is what we, the audience, were in fact shown.
Zola shows clippings of the Starks' deaths followed immediately by a photo of Bucky as TWS
The implication is that Bucky killed them.
But we (and Steve) don't have confirmation of that, even after the HYDRA files were released. That's why Zemo needed to find someone (who turned out to be Bucky himself) to give him the "mission report" from December 16, 1991.
I believe Steve was being honest when he told Tony, "I didn't know it was him [Bucky]." Steve only said, "yes," to Tony''s next question ("don't shit me Rogers, DID YOU KNOW?") because he knew, at that moment, Tony wouldn't accept any other response.
It was handled very dumb. At the end of Winter Soldier, Black Widow gave Cap the files on Bucky at Furys grave. So he learned of it after reading them. Whats dumb was there was a camera in the tree in the year 1991 when Bucky killed them. But why was the camera in that tree? Bucky ran them off the road however it could have easily been a little before or after where the camera was positioned. Why even have a camera to begin with?
