Samyboy (samhmd-7489) says that Netflix shows aren't grounded.

However, Jeph Loeb, the main creator of the Netflix TV universe, says otherwise:

http://www.cbr.com/jeph-loeb-embraces-grounded-stories-of-marvels-netflix-series/

So it's pretty much confirmed that Samyboy is either complete hypocrite or just mentally challenged person who has poor knowledge of filmmaking. I know that not many people (especially MCU shils like him) want to disagree with him, but I don't know why someone would tolerate person as stupid as him. Samyboy will always be my favorite verbal punching bag, since I've never met hypocrites like him before (and I have met many of them).

Sambyboy, you can't even look up for the meaning of the word "grounded" before spewing your nonsense. Grounded is not about making something like how it is in real life. Grounded is about making something feel as it would happen in real life. By the way, Samyboy, there are no mutants living in our world, as far as I know. So how X-Men movies are more grounded than Netflix shows, none of which have fantastical aspects like X-Men movies? (Yep, just keep proving the fact that you are hypocrite, pal.)

reply

Grounded is not about making something like how it is in real life. Grounded is about making something feel as it would happen in real life.

And nothing will make a Magic Ninja Cult that can resurrect the dead feel like something that could exist. Therefore the Netflix show aren't grounded.

X-Men as a movie series was also created by someone who disliked the comics, which just adds to the shame.

Samyboy, go and learn what the term "grounded" means when it's applied to cinema. It means portraying the possibility, not the actuality.

Therefore the Netflix show aren't grounded.

Nobody in real life dresses up as an anthropomorphic bat and then goes out to beat up crooks at night. Therefore, Nolan's movies aren't grounded either, Samyboy.

X-Men as a movie series was also created by someone who disliked the comics,

Oh, so now you changed your tune, because you understood that your "grounded" nonsense doesn't apply to X-Men movies; now you are saying stupid crap about Singer having dislike for the comics? Oh, man... You will never mature, will ya'?

which just adds to the shame.

You should be ashamed that you are marginalized hypocrite who cannot stay consistent with his opinion.

reply

If stuff like what the Hand does is "grounded", then Nolan would've used the Lazarus Pits in his movies.

Nobody in real life dresses up as an anthropomorphic bat and then goes out to beat up crooks at night.

And Nolan is ashamed enough of this he keeps using the alternate names of "Caped Crusader" and "Dark Knight" rather than just have him referred to mainly as "Batman". If he could get rid of the Bat Motif, he would've.

Oh, so now you changed your tune, because you understood that your "grounded" nonsense doesn't apply to X-Men movies;

Well, it's grounded in not having the aliens or Savage Land or most everything else. It's also why he has the characters barely ever use their damn powers in innovative ways.

If Daredevil show was not trying to be gritty and realistic, Samyboy, Daredevil wouldn't be wearing that cheap black pajama for the entirety of the first season. And even after he got his (sort of) classic suit, the suit would be more bright and would have the DD logo on it. At least Nolan put Batman in his iconic suit at one hour mark in the film, not at the very end.

Also, Nolan's films had secret society of highly trained assassins that were using magical hallucinogen to destroy societies. So yeah, Samyboy, you still are complete hypocrite.

And Nolan is ashamed enough of this he keeps using the alternate names of "Caped Crusader" and "Dark Knight" rather than just have him referred to mainly as "Batman". If he could get rid of the Bat Motif, he would've.

First of all, nobody in Nolan's trilogy ever referred to Batman as a cape crusader. The only time when he was called The Dark Knight was in the closing monologue of the second movie. When people refer to Batman, they always refer to him as Batman.

Second of all, nobody calls Daredevil by his comic book name either. Nobody calls The Punisher by his comic book name. Nobody calls Jessica Jones by her original superhero name from the comics. And nobody calls Luke Cage Power-Man. Also, Luke Cage doesn't wear his iconic suit from the comics. In fact, the show makes fun of the stupidity of his original outfit.

So yeah, Samyboy, you still can't defend your own hypocrisy. If you were at least smart (which you're not), you'd never say that you like those shows. The fact that you like those Netfli shows further proves how much of a hypocrite you are.

Well, it's grounded in not having the aliens or Savage Land or most everything else.

They have people with super-human abilities, time travel, and unrealistic technologies. They are not grounded by the same logic by which you defined Netflix shows as not grounded. By the way, I don't remember Mandarin in Iron Man 3 being uber-evil warlord whose source of power came from an ancient alien race. I don't remember Iron Man battling an army of the space dragons in the middle of China. Yet, those things happened in his comics all the time. So, why you like that movie, again? They don't have what comics had.

It's also why he has the characters barely ever use their damn powers in innovative ways.

So why Luke Cage didn't put on his yellow spandex and didn't became hero for hire, like in the comics, Samyboy? (Oh, man, I will miss roasting you on these boards.)

reply

If Daredevil show was not trying to be gritty and realistic, Samyboy, Daredevil wouldn't be wearing that cheap black pajama for the entirety of the first season.

He was a poor Lawyer who didn't have any idea about the Devil Motif at that time. The story organically had him get the idea and the costume.

Also, Nolan's films had secret society of highly trained assassins that were using magical hallucinogen to destroy societies.

Nothing magical about it, and they can't do stuff like reanimate the dead.

Second of all, nobody calls Daredevil by his comic book name either. Nobody calls The Punisher by his comic book name.

Did you watch the shows? They do.

Nobody calls Jessica Jones by her original superhero name from the comics.

They did, and they had Trish even show us the costume.

And nobody calls Luke Cage Power-Man.

Pop did.

They have people with super-human abilities, time travel, and unrealistic technologies.

Hardly. And they only have the really comic booky stuff in some "future era" that gets undone by the end. Singer's way of saying "See how we finally started using comic elements? WELL GUESS WHAT I JUST ERASED IT ALL!"

[quot]So why Luke Cage didn't put on his yellow spandex and didn't became hero for hire, like in the comics[/quote]

He hasn't worn that in years, and he did become the local hero. Still truer in spirit.

reply

Nah. The excuses of hypocrites that can't stay consistent. In the original comics, he put on the suit after the few pages into the comics, and it was bright and colorful. And people always referred to him as Daredevil. In the show, he didn't even came out with that name on his own. Newspaper did it for him. In Nolan's films, Bruce Wayne created the image of Batman himself, not with the help of journalists.

Nothing magical about it,

Except for a fact that they are using non-existent hallucinogen as their primary weapon. Or the fact that they have been around for centuries without ever being found.

and they can't do stuff like reanimate the dead.

Scarecrow's gas doesn't exist in real life. Therefore, they are no more grounded than Daredevil show.

Did you watch the shows?

Only Daredevil. And he never refers to himself as Daredevil. For other shows, I ask my friends if I need to know something. Jessica Jones had made fun of Jessica Jones original origin. Luke Cage did the same thing. Nolan wasn't ashamed of the comics like those creators were. I mean, can you imagine how retarded it would be if in the middle Bruce developing his suit, Alfred would pull off dirty looking spandex costume, that looks like Adam West's Batman suit, and would say, "Master Wayne, maybe this one?" It's so lowbrow and lame.

They did, and they had Trish even show us the costume.

That scene was making fun of her original comic book origin, Samyboy. Therefore, the show is ashamed.

Pop did.

As a joke.

Hardly.

So you are telling me that there exists cerebral machine that can allow you to read minds of people around the world?

And they only have the really comic booky stuff in some "future era"

Hardly. In the first X-Men movie you had Cerebro and Magneto's power-giving machine. In X-Men 2 you had military facility where mutants were experimented on and such.

that gets undone by the end.

Hardly. We saw danger room in X-Men Apocalypse.

Singer's way of saying "See how we finally started using comic elements? WELL GUESS WHAT I JUST ERASED IT ALL!"

Which would be very stupid of him to say that, considering that his X-Men movies always had fictional technologies from the comics.

He hasn't worn that in years,

Excuse of the ashamed.

and he did become the local hero. Still truer in spirit.

What spirit? Luke Cage has been known for being Black Dynamite type character who became hero for hire. Luke Cage on Netflix is too much of a do-gooder.

But you are hypocrite, and we know that. Netflix show are as realistic as Nolan's films. Fact.

reply

Nah. The excuses of hypocrites that can't stay consistent. In the original comics, he put on the suit after the few pages into the comics, and it was bright and colorful.

The original Yellow one, which he then later changed to the red one. The show just replaced the yellow period with the black outfit and had him evolve to the red one.

And people always referred to him as Daredevil. In the show, he didn't even came out with that name on his own. Newspaper did it for him. In Nolan's films, Bruce Wayne created the image of Batman himself, not with the help of journalists

Bruce needed Ra's to come up with Batman.

Except for a fact that they are using non-existent hallucinogen as their primary weapon.

Hallucinogens are real things, even if the one in particular they used didn't truly exist.

Scarecrow's gas doesn't exist in real life.

Hallucinogens exist in real life, Lazarus Pits do not.

Nolan wasn't ashamed of the comics like those creators were.

He was worse. And if the Netflix showrunners were ashamed they'd never have used the Hand or Killgrave or have Diamondback use alien weaponry.

That scene was making fun of her original comic book origin, Samyboy. Therefore, the show is ashamed.

The Alias comics also make fun of her costume and Jewel ID, so they're being true.

As a joke.

As an affectionate Nickname.

So you are telling me that there exists cerebral machine that can allow you to read minds of people around the world?

There are devices out there that allow people with locked-in syndrome try and communicate. Same principle.

Hardly. In the first X-Men movie you had Cerebro and Magneto's power-giving machine. In X-Men 2 you had military facility where mutants were experimented on and such.

Nothing unashamed, like the hover-chair or the Sentinels. That only could happen in "the future".

Hardly. We saw danger room in X-Men Apocalypse.

For like a few seconds, Singer's way of saying "screw you".

Which would be very stupid of him to say

Shame overrides reason.

Excuse of the ashamed.

Because he has other outfits.

What spirit? Luke Cage has been known for being Black Dynamite type character who became hero for hire. Luke Cage on Netflix is too much of a do-gooder.

There were still Blaxploitation elements in the show, and he hasn't been a money-grubber in decades. Focusing on one single element above all others is laziness.

Netflix show are as realistic as Nolan's films. Fact.

If Nolan used the Lazarus Pits or Robin or people with genuine superpowers, you might have a point. As it is, you're still just supporting someone ashamed of comics.

When it's not funny and borderline retarded, yes. But it's funny to hear accusations such as these from someone as monotone and witless as you, Samyboy. You don't have sense of humor at all. You're lifeless, emotionless robot. (And a hypocrite, of course.)

Which to you is 99% of everything.

If the Dr Strange wifi joke had been in a Batman movie, you'd eat it up.

"If the Dr Strange wifi joke had been in a Batman movie, you'd eat it up."

No, considering that it's a terrible joke, and, at the time of watching Batman Begins, I would not even know what a WiFi is, considering that people were still using Ethernet cables for connection.

Of course they are, as much as a comic book show/movie can be, you know. I just wish these shows were more involved in the movie universe instead of small meaningless mentions of the New York incident here and there.
