Looks like the shark the writers jumped, jumped another shark and replaced them with an infinite number of monkeys.
In fact that's probably next week's plot.

Not a comedy, but there are many comedic moments.
PC Ingrid suggesting she could always go in through the window (having done it twice already) was tongue-in-cheek. Ingrid and Petra finding Shirley in the supermarket with that stupid song playing was a bit of surreal Scandi humor.

I think they took series one too seriously and now sort of play it tongue in cheek! Because the story is pretty crazy, and all the characters seem to be getting crazier!
