Watch Man on Wire instead
Man on Wire is much more entertaining, and much less annoying.
shareI couldn't disagree more.
Man on Wire was decent, but also tremendously disappointing for two reasons:
1) there was no video/film coverage of his walk! There is film footage for his walks at Notre Dame and the Sydney bridge, but not for the WTC? What the hell?
2) I get not wanting to mention 9/11. But we're all left wondering what Petit's reaction was on that horrible day from a man who was obsessed with those buildings from the time before they were even built! Why not at least have that as a special feature?
HARUMPH!share
I knew of the first, and that was the main reason I avoided it and was looking forward to The Walk, but I didn't know about the 2nd. That was a question I had after this movie that i thought maybe Man on Wire would answer.
You'd feel cocky too if you were full of myself.
Yes I agree, the narration is so annoying and the doco is better
shareMan on a Wire was very good.
This was very good also.
I thought Joseph Gordon-Levitt was great..
watching him walk the wire, I cried...
The camera work made it look like he really did it.
and it was a nice tribute to the twin towers.
Comparing a documentary to a theatrical movie? I watched both.
shareYou´re right, watching "Man On Wire" (a great and inspiring documentary) makes this Hollywood remake pointless. I actually think most of the rave reviews were done by people who never watched the original. Once you do, this remake becames a sappy, again pointless watch. And Hewitt is really forcing it, he tries too hard and you can tell it´s acting all the time, like a caricature. It would need a deepr actor to pull this stunt off. Cheers
