How did they re-create the twin towers?

Exactly how did they recreate the twin towers? Even though the walk across the tightrope makes my stomach drop, I would be so sad, know the twin towers are no more! 😭 Was this movie sort of a tribute to the twin towers? Also, did Philipe really get a "forever pass to the twin towers? Them showing it,though seems like a foreshadow as to 9/11. Did they show any real pictures of the twin towers? Also Philipe Petit must have been sad to hear of the twin towers being destroyed in 9/11 😢

Yeah, it's clear that the movie is both an homage to the wire walk and the majesty of the towers themselves. Obviously huge portions of the visuals are CGI.

Try Dailymotion (website like YouTube) for the movie "Man on Wire"... The documentary about the real highwire walk, filmed at the time it really happened...

Phillipe was writing is book 'To Reach The Clouds" at the time of 9/11. I got the book for christmas and he said how sad he was. And I also addedd a picture to the photo section how they filmed the tightrope scene

The rooftop scenes were sets built with meticulous accuracy to the original buildings.

Full shots of the Towers were a combo of CGI and real footage/photographs digitally spliced into the movie.

You see real pictures of the Towers in a couple newspapers.

Yes, Petit did get a "forever pass".

And yes, there's an interview after 9/11 where Petit talks about it and sounds pretty heartbroken.
