Do we ever get to see the aliens?
Only watched first ep. Will not continue if no pay off. :(
shareI've heard someone that in episode 4 which is this Monday will finally find out who Drill is and what he is as for seeing him I heard we will as well .
So after one episode you're ready to turn off because you haven't seen the aliens?
Ummmmm...impatient much?
You stand here sucker. You made me do this - Jeremy Renner

He shouldn't have to spell it out for you. Obviously he thinks the show is poor quality and he's not willing to endure that just to see the aliens at the last episode or not at al.
shareVery silly and very impatient.

Bingo! I dont need to see aliens by episode 3 or whatever. Im just not going to invest my time in a show that has aliens with no purpose of ever showing them. An entire season of voices talking to children does not work for me.
shareWatched the first 3 episodes so far and tbh, although the concept may be great, it's boring as hell. It's way too docile and unimpressive. I was expecting something seriously disturbing and frightening, not sunday afternoon family entertainment. There is no thrill, I don't care for a single character and that's bad.
Giving the 4th episode a last chance, then I'm out.
Maybe I'll give the book a try.
Wow talk about ADHD! So you want a show to just immediately give you the entire plot line and what all the characters are going to be in the first episode? Sounds like you just need to stick to Netflix originals where you can just play the last couple of episodes to find out what happens....
shareWell in the book they didn't show up until the very very end
sharethis isnt the book
shareClearly. But we can have a reasonable expectation about what's to come based on source material.
share"The book" is about five pages long, so I have a feeling the series won't be following it that closely...
This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
Oh I'm sorry. Is me calling a story a book offensive to your delicate sensibilities? And obviously if you watched episode one they clearly did not follow the story completely. But the are working the source material into the show and if aliens start popping up on episode 5 then what is the point of this being a thriller. That's just plain ignorance if you think the aliens will come any earlier.
shareI think you may be missing the point.
The suspense comes from not seeing the aliens, not knowing what the end game is until the end. This is not exactly a Michael Bay film.
I doubt we will see Drill at all at least until the finale, which is how it should be for a show like this.
So did they show an alien?
shareNot even in the end. All we got up to episode 8 was images of Drill through infrared.
Oh well, maybe if there is a second season.
Isn't the whole point that the aliens are made of energy? So what is there to see exactly?
The fact they could see them with IR was a complete cop out to begin with.

we a t least get to confirm the rocks were their spacecraft. and that means they have solid tools which require a solid lifeform to build. AS the first episodes show Drill can't even lift a bucket of water or saw a hole in a tree house. He needed to ask a child to do such activity. Minx and Harper will probably be made to build spaceships in their factories. I want to see Amblin make a scene of an alien factory
shareLol called it after the first couple episodes and people got mad. There was never going to be a payoff because its a human drama show being marketed as sci-fi horror.
