Just watched this movie, if you're like me seeing it late, reply.
I'm no movie snob, but this movie was lacking as far as its potential for the concept
1. I'll always be annoyed by the constant practice of the man-woman relationship taking precident over the sci-fi concept. Like... this movie is sci-fi, let the concept dominate, not how a man and woman interact. Ugh.
2. The dialogue and presence between characters seemed off. I've seen bad-acted movies that I like (The first Resident Evil), but this was a bad-acted movie, in which the characters didn't fit their situation, felt shallow, especially the asian broad. She was a constant source of eye-rolling for me as far as quips and banter, as well as her introduction and purpose.
3. The whole "Successful family breeds an MMA fighter" was pretty much meaningless in the plot. It felt completely forced into the story.
4. The only unanswered question is.. what did the bearded guy mean when he was yelling "DON'T BELIEVE WHAT HE SAYS" just before he got shot by the dad in the building. The bearded guy went up beyond the 7th floor, and clearly had new information. It was very intriguing.
5. At the end, we see 3 of the Asian broads meeting up as if they've worked all of the other characters. I'm not sure how that's some advantage. So there's 3 of them, and they're taking turns in being poorly-acted chauffers in this dilemma. It's not as if it changes anything about the circumstances.. what advantage do they have by switching out?
Overall.. I give it an okay concept with poor execution.
