In the end, were they back on the nuked planet

I hope they make more of this, this is much better than sliders.

When the nuke blows up on the Apocalypse planet everything turns bright outside. When the show ended it was bright again. It makes me wonder if they were back in some world where nukes were going off.

Sliders is just dated. It was equally exciting during its time, along with Quantum leap, Time Bandits (the movie), X-files. This was good and has me hooked for at least a few episodes. They need to keep some middle aged characters in this to keep in my demographic though.

I don't think so but maybe. Earlier in the pilot I thought the asian girl indicated that the building doesn't go back to previous Earths. At one point she also says there is 'No going home" suggesting the same thing.

Maybe the Tinkerer guy messing with the building did reverse the building direction and if so then yeah, it would be going back to the nuked planet. However, even if that was true, I don't think the blast from the nuke would still be bright and it is unlikely that they would go to show much trouble to initiate all these Lost type storylines just to kill off the characters at the end of the movie/pilot. Plus, the characters just kind of wander out the door at their own leisure. They would have reacted differently when walking through the door.

With the machine tinker built, they pick what earth to go to. If they can figure out a system with the machine they pick and choose what earth to go to. They can find their "home" earth and other one they want.

I'm betting that Tinker is the one that's got it right by trying to destroy the building. Bummer that they killed him, but death doesn't seem to be much of a deterrent when you can always find living versions of anyone you like. I guess they'll drive blindly for a while until they think to find one of him to reverse-engineer his own creation. We haven't seen the last of Tinker.
