The Opening Sequence

They were either too cheap or too lazy or both to re-edit the opening sequence so it didn't resemble a TV show opening. They didn't need to show us the building on a bunch of different earths that we weren't going to see in the movie anyways.

Or they put it there to make one think about all the worlds they could visit in a series

I thought it cheapened the look of the film but thats just my opinion.
