Something that I didn't understand.....

Ok, if the building is always there in every version of earth, then why did the one girl say it was so imperative not to miss the "jump"? If you missed one jump, the building would still be there. Why wouldn't you just be able to walk in and jump with the building the next time around?

I don't know, they made it seem like you only have like 36 hours in each location, when if you stop and think about it, if the building really is a constant on every version of earth, there would be no reason why you couldn't stay as long as you wanted and simply enter the building when you were ready to leave and move with the next jump. Did I miss something or is this not the logical conclusion that one would come too if the building really was a constant? I didn't see anything that suggested you had to be in a particular version of Earth's building at a certain time to be able to jump.

Yes I was thinking that too. at any time anyone could go into the building on the 36 hour cycle and "jump". Why did they make a big deal about missing any jump times. I can see why they did not pick up this as a show based on the holes in the concept. I do think they could tweak some of these plot holes to make it a better show.

Polly also made it pretty clear that because of the number of universes you would never be able to return to your earth of origin. That all makes sense until you factor in the fact that their father had already been to all of the earths they visit, meaning that their trip is at least the second one to each universe. Right?
Plot holes, man.

reply

I don't think the father thing is a plot hole, because he obviously knows much more than he was able to tell his children, and so he might have a special way to move between universes.

But the way Polly talked about universes she'd been to, and the way others tagged the walls with notes about other planets, made it seem like people could choose a planet to travel to or go to one more than once. Plus, there's a way to number the planets and know which number you're on.

Clearly. this movie works as a pilot better, since what here are holes could be answered in the series!

I thought that too until I realized that there was more than one Polly. Then I thought she just lied for some ulterior motive.

Presumably although the building is in every earth, only that version is able to jump. When it arrives it must somehow merge with the regular version of it on that planet until it leaves. The regular building is just that. No special power or jump capability. Only one world has mastered that tech as far as we know.
