What were Tinkers last words before he was shot? Sounded to me like he said "Don't listen to him Ronan".

I could be totally wrong. However, before I came to these boards, when I heard those words in the movie, I thought he meant he found nothing/no one upstairs (which is exactly what the dad told his daughter). So I thought the lie was when he was told "they were waiting for him." Then the dad killed him because he was messing with the technology of the building and so he was too dangerous.
shareCorrect on the first part. We don't really know why he killed him. The "he's lying/a liar" line could bear some ironic truth if the series or a sequel ever appears. It was obviously chosen for its ambiguity. The Dad is left as a mysterious character; and obviously not a wholly benign one- whose willing to kill at a moment's notice.

This one is obviously an evil dad. I don't think that he knew that these were his kids but knew enough to play along and use them according to his purpose. They'll probably find more versions of dad, and I'm guessing that each version faced a pivotal choice that makes him turn out either good or bad. Wait, did this dad have a little goatee?
shareI thought it was pretty naive and stupid of him to go up there anyway. He left his machine behind, so he had no collateral to stay alive, and went up to 'meet' the people he intended to piss off when he hijacked their building. I knew they were going to kill him but didn't see it play out like that.
In fact, I thought maybe his other self created the building, and he was up there, since he's the only one who was brilliant enough to hijack it too.
Either way this was a fantastic movie. I'm just sad not to see a resolution from it.

That's exactly what i thought , if he was smart enough to build a machine that can control a dimension travelling building , then it's very possible that he is the one that has built the building in the core world.
