Love the women characters: Please don't cancel:(

I love love love the women characters on this show! Love the guys too esp Jarvis. But it's refreshing to see women who are strong yet not snarky or bitchy or wives/gfs be jealous. I'm so tired of shows that assume that strength in women equals to sarcasm or snarkiness or needing to emasculate men. This show does it right imo.

I hope we get many more seasons! Please don't cancel:(

I love how shows like this demonstrate that the epitome of womanhood is to be a man with tits.

Translation: Strong women threaten my masculinity.

reply

Sure they do, Snowflake. They're silly, not threatening.

reply

Is someone forcing you to watch Agent Carter? Why are you even here?

reply

Just to mock SJWs.

reply

What's wrong with Agent Carter? If you can enjoy Batman doing incredibly amazing things, why can't we do the same with Agent Carter?

reply

Because your delusional view of female physical capabilities is destroying our military, our police forces, our fire companies, and our sports teams. In the real world, world-class female athletes are routinely dominated by young male teens and old men who are not world-class performers. In the fantasy world, Agent Carters are used to convince the public that opening the military to women will make it more, rather than less effective.

reply

Our military, police forces, fire fighting services, and sports teams are doing just fine. And the general public understands that characters like Batman and Peggy Carter aren't realistic.

reply

I don't see how the idea of inclusiveness destroys anything. In sport the most impressive US national sports team is the U.S. Women's football team who have completely outshone their male counterparts and when they won the World Cup in 2015 the final was watched by over 25m people.

That is beside the point. The US Women's soccer/football team is phenomenal and has been for decades, but they play against other women. If they were to play the US Men's soccer/football team they'd be destroyed. Just as the best women's: tennis player, women's basketball team, volleyball team, sprinter, weightlifter, boxer, MMA fighter, and etc ... would be destroyed by their male counterpart. It's not sexist to state this. It's just a fact.

In everything that doesn't have something to do with physical prowess women are as capable or more than men. It's just the things that require certain physical skills or athleticism where men have a distinct advantage b/c of biology. Also biological facts are that women mature quicker than men, they're less susceptible to illness and they live longer. That's also not sexist but fact generally speaking.

The idea that a 135-150 pound women could kick the ass of multiple 200 + pound men is absurd. B/c it's tv (or movie) and I enjoy watching ass kicking women I find ways to ignore it and enjoy the show. At least in Agent Carter the heroine is not a waif like figure making it even more absurd.

You´re on a mission, huh? You are in virtually every single board posting the exact same feminist charade.

reply

Who are you talking to? Me or the OP? If it's me I don't know what you're on as the majority of my posts are here or th Civil War board. Nor do I see that it would be of any relevance if I posted the same thing on every imdb board 24/7.

reply

My mistake. I meant to respond to Ruby. Sorry, to little Ms. Ruby.

I will always defend characters like Rey, Peggy Carter, and Furiosa again attacks from MRAs who see them as a threat to masculinity.

reply

I actually like Furiosa and Agent Carter. I also like Sarah Connor and Ellen Ripley and I don't see them as feminist characters at all and you shouldn't either. They are strong and interesting characters not because they're women, but because they are rounded and well written, so stop with your childish rants.

And for the record, I don't consider Rey a threat to my masculinity. Unlike feminists, it would be impossible for me to consider a fictional character as a threat to anything. I consider her, however, a threat to intelligence and to good writing. Nothing more

reply

What are, "feminist characters?" Can you give examples? And what's wrong with me defending female characters I like? If some sexist guy claims Peggy is a man with boobs, I might be inclined to call him out on his sexism. As for Rey, she was a lead character in a movie that was critically well received and a blockbuster.

reply

You know exactly what a feminist character is, no need to play dumb. Maybe I should've said "strong female character"? How about "smart and independent woman"? No matter how I describe them, people like you will always find a way to shout out their discomfort.

And the ultimate example is, without a doubt, Rey. No one, not Furiosa, Katniss, Ripley or Sarah Connor are so painfully desperate to speak their feminism, but Rey is. So of course it was well recieved. In this day and age, no one in their right mind would dare to speak against such a character.

reply

How is Rey so painfully desperate to speak her feminism?

reply

Again playing dumb. And you're not even good at it.

reply

No, I really don't get how Rey is painfully desperate to speak her feminism. Are you saying she's a feminist character (whatever that means), but those other female characters aren't? Did Rey somehow cross a line that the others did not?

reply

"Our military, police forces, fire fighting services, and sports teams are doing just fine."

No they aren't.

reply

Bridget Regan's character, Dottie Underwood, was awesome.

reply

Women characters are great in this. Peggy Carter might be my favourite female lead ever.
