My honest opinion on season 2
Big fan here, and if you ask for my opinion, I think the love interests were too rushed, boring and had no chemistry. Yes, there was a little chemistry between Hayley Atwell and Regie Austin, but they put it too early as I said too rushed and, for me (and apparently a few fans), there wasn't and never has been chemistry between Atwell and Enver Gjokaj, and let's add that the character of Daniel Sousa is quite boring and dull, I know the writers mentioned he was supposed to be a Steve Rogers kind of guy, but we don't want another Steve Rogers, we want a original and fresh character!
An actor that in my opinion Hayley had A LOT of chemistry with was Chad Michael Murray, and I really enjoyed having both of them in my screen arguing 99% percent of the time and I really liked the dynamic the writers showed the first two minutes of the first episode when they were in their mission to catch Dottie Underwood, which brings me to the other point:
Was it necessary to change the location of the show just in order to give Peggy a boring and dull villain, and a cliché love triangle? It would have been interesting to experience how it was Thompson and Carter's work, Vernon Masters was enough to become a GREAT VILLAIN much more interesting than Whitney Frost (because she had nothing of Madame Masque... not even the mask!), Masters had this vibe and this power of control poor conflictive Jack worthy to be compared to how the Sith Lord controlled Anakin Skywalker. Peggy Carter wouldn't have liked this, and would have made as possible to become once again a double agent, trying to get her boss back while her boss was being controlled like a marionette by the puppetmaster Vernon. In my opinion I wouldn't have complained if they had delayed the love interest thing and just make Peggy to save the day as both agents [Thompson and Carter] watch how their beloved SSR slowly fell into pieces, which would have been the perfect moment to start S.H.I.E.L.D. also we shouldn't forget S.H.I.E.L.D.'s first facility was in New Jersey as stated in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
Anyone agrees?
