Haven't seen either although Sing appeals more to me and I'll probably see it in cinemas and get round to Dory sometime. However critically it's Dory that's been called a masterpiece with Sing in the good but not great bracket. No surprise to see Moana, Kubo and Zootopia up for Golden Globe but suprising to see My Life as a Zucchini get the token foreign spot over Red Turtle.
shareTo be fair, Finding Dory was a sequel (albeit a good one). They had to make cuts somewhere.
shareHaving seen both (and been bored - as were the kids - by Dory), Sing is much better. Dory was less a sequel than a half-hearted remake of Nemo.
shareIt was certainly not a remake of Nemo. They didn't focus much on the searchers, but on the one trying to be found. Sing, meanwhile, has a fart joke, just because.
