Anyone else bothered by this?
I absolutely loved this movie and had loads of fun with it but was anyone else bothered that they changed Meena's final song? It was supposed to be Dream On by Aerosmith but that didn't turn out to be the case.

I am judging simply by the trailers where the Elephant is singing. I hate when movies mislead the audience.
shareI said the same thing too ("enough already" thread that another poster posted) when he'd said/or she'd said that it was (just) 80s songs..

I'm guessing you were looking at the trailer that used Dream On as it's background music. I believe the song was only used to complement the storytelling in the trailer. It's not unusual for early trailers to sometimes use music that ends up not becoming an official part of the soundtrack. The high pitched moment at the end was briefly used on top of Meena's singing just to visually accentuate the moment that she literally brought the stage down.
I can understand that the trailer might imply that Meena would perform this song, but if one of the competitors was really going to sing Dream On it would probably have been Ash who has an edgier singing style and plays guitar. Dream On would not have suited Meena's personality. Plus the trailer seems to be using the original Aerosmith song. If it was actually going to be sung in the movie a cover version by one of the actors would have been shown and used.

That's an unpopular opinion but alrighty.
