So did Mike get away?

The bear was about to eat him when his girlfriend saved him. We last saw them driving away, when the bear suddenly pokes his head up behind them, revealing that he was hanging onto the back of the car. So did they get away, or was this meant to imply that they didn't? We don't see them again after this, not even at the reopening.

I think it's supposed to be up to the viewers interpretation.

I was expecting an end credits scene to clear that up.
