Louie saved the show

This could’ve easily turned into the whacky-Zach show. But Louie elevated everyone and definitely turned the two brothers into fully realized, 3 dimensional characters. Zach owes Louie big time. Louie Anderson absolutely brings it every single episode. He never phones it in.

I agree that this show would be nothing without Louie and the Christine Baskets character, but I also think Zach does a phenomenal job playing both Chip and Dale. He plays Dale off so well that it sometimes seems like a different actor.

Agree. I think that’s how Louie pushes everyone to be an actual human. If you look at S1 Chip and Dale vs the season 3 version they are quite different. In S3 Zach finally made me believe these are truly twin brothers. I think the touch of grey in Chip’s beard and the better attention to their unique hairstyles goes a long way, too.

I also believe that’s why we don’t see much of the adopted twins now because they don’t fit in acting-chops wise anymore. Everyone sort of left them in the dust in terms of character development.

I didn't like the DJ Twins and I hope they're permanently in the background now. There were a few comic elements to them, such as the time Dale told a comatose Christine "your adopted twins are garbage, Mama" and the bottled water they brought to the party as a "gift" was kind of funny, but overall, they are horrible characters. I hated how Christine seemed to favor them over her biological sons.

I agree that the character development for Chip and Dale has been really good. Chip may be sarcastic, but he always comes through for his mother when she needs him and you can tell he genuinely cares for Martha. Dale is often a buffoon, but you can tell that he genuinely cares for his family.

I wasn't sure about the relationship with Mr. Carpet King, at first, but I think it's sweet how they skype with each other. A funny running gag how Christine is always blocking the screen of her iPad with that ceramic cat mug.
