He's great! I bet a lot of viewers who don't know him really think he is a woman. He truly does steal the show!

What have you done to it's eyes!

reply

he honestly plays the best mother. I wish he was my mom.

That outfit Louie wore to the Easter service/brunch had me in stitches. That hat....wow.

Louie is brilliant in this, a real pleasant surprise and by far the best thing about "Baskets". I think an Emmy nomination and/or Golden Globe might be in his future.

Brilliant. he plays it so earnestly, there's not a hint of irony. just so great.

For this reason, I often have to remind myself that is NOT a woman in this role. Louie so vanishes into the role and plays it so straight, he is strangely quite convincing as the mother. That's a testament to how he takes on this role, without irony, as you said.

It's actually a stroke of brilliance that Louie isn't hamming it up in the role or playing it as an outright farce or joke. The "reality" of it is what really separates it.

Well said!

We hear mom chastising him because he looked like a gypsy and then we see her in her Easter outfit. That was priceless. As moviefool09 said, "wow".

As everyone has said, Louie is fantastic.
