The Funeral (03/09/2017)

The candid discussion Christine had with her brother was in reference to Louie's own real life Dad, who inspired much of his comedy (and eating disorder). It was handled sensitively and realistically. I think it was a good idea for Christine to get Meemaw her own plot away from their father, at least to spent all eternity. Christine's brother can use the plot by their dad if he wants.

One of my favorite lines was when Christine told Martha to start collecting people's trash during the wake or gathering. It's a little demeaning, especially since guests were still there and it's not over with -- and especially how the other guest just handed her their trash while she was sitting there and Martha's like "...oh, thanks."

20+ years ago his show "Life with Louie" hinted at a lot of the same themes concerning his father/family in what would seem a somewhat subversive manner now. It's hard to believe that various children's(?) cartoons of that era (Eek! The Cat, Bobby's World, Animaniacs, Pinky and The Brain, et al...) are mostly overlooked now in regards to entertaining, and what I would consider substantive, domestic social commentary. I have to believe Mr. Anderson has a meaningful amount of input into the writing of Mrs Baskets character/story/dialogue. As far as favorite lines, without having the benefit of a recent second viewing, I'd have to say I found everything concerning the younger Baskets twins relationship/business dealings, and the senior Baskets twins reactions to such, fairly hilarious. Having never seen the first season, and thus having no previous exposure to/understanding of the relationship dynamics between the two pairs, I found the elder twins inability to differentiate between their younger siblings hilarious 😂 I suppose some would find it hackneyed, but like I said, missing the first season and wondering all this season so far about (to in my mind) the mysterious younger DJ twins, to finally get to "meet" them and see them interact with the rest of the Baskets family was great and wonderfully entertaining, not to mention well acted by all involved. Kudos to everyone involved with this show, keep it up.
