And why do you go guns blazing when you know you don't have much ammo.
They didn't have much choice at that point when they were trying to get into the house.
Patrick and Jack were just getting back into talking with one another and going on a supply run (only one run) before they met the girl and shortly thereafter got attacked. Patrick seemed to keep enough ammo on hand to defend himself and hunt but certainly not enough to take on an army of mutant-zombie vampires.
Are those zombies made of liquid or gas, Coz they were appearing in impossible places (basement, upstairs)
They moved around quite silently and could squeeze into tight spaces. They showed how nimble the one was in the warehouse when it zipped up on top of the crates. It's not too hard to believe one squeezed through the basement window or into any other hole in the house.
And there are so many reasons why playing the record on loud speaker was a bad idea but the writers decide hey let's make it so the zombies can't stand this music instead of the sensible thing (music would draw more in)
It was a good and bad idea. It was a good idea because they were being overrun and the music did distract them. They had a little girl, a partial drunk, a scared father and a pregnant woman. They were not battle hardened. While the music would draw them in, the one lady had to make a desperate call to stave them off.
At first I thought it was a stupid thing for her to do but it did buy them some time to think and regroup. Constantly trying to fight them one on one while being over-powered was not working at all.
