The dog

I realize that they didn't actually kill a dog, but it was still a very sad and disturbing scene. It made me gasp. Had I been David, I would have kicked the s**t out of that heartless bitch!

Just because you are too stupid to understand this movie, that's no reason to insult it. Ugly ass.

F off, kedog!!

I find the dog scene as well as the suicide attempt arenonly there for shock value to unnerve the audience.

reply

What are you talking about? Why shock value? The dog was his brother, remember? She killed his brother. Plus in the entire film animals and humans were equalized. Just some food for thought...

I Sympathize with Lars Von Trier.

reply

Well, he turned her into an animal - the worst one according to him - so she probably had a fate worse than death, which is for the better I guess.

Fine, fine, I'll leave! But first I'm going to bother these peanuts! Hmm? Yes? Hmm? HMM?

reply

And that's what that heartless bitch deserved!

I agree, after that scene I lost interest in the movie. as someone else put 'animals are seen as equal to people in the film'. She was a heartless person, and I knew how he would respond...but after I saw the dog I just hit stop.

Same here, I couldn't continue watching. That scene made me sick and I instantly hated the movie after that. IMO if you have to use animal abuse/cruelty to move tbe story along that's lazy writing. A smart writer would find another way. Hate this garbage with a passion.

That's ridiculous. I did not love this movie and I hate seeing a dog die as much as anyone but a good writer should not avoid any topic just because some people can't handle it.

reply

I had my mother watch it because for some reason it entertains me to see how far she can get through a movie like this. Surprisingly she was actually enjoying it but turned it off after the dog scene. She can't accept that it's just a movie with some things.

reply

Maybe I was looking for an excuse to turn it off (which I very rarely do.. I figure I paid for it...) but that's as far as I made it.

reply

You were smart, gage.
