Like a Broadway play

I liked the film and think it would have made a great play. It reminded of " Petrified Forest", which was a film and become I believe was based on a hit play. It was film with Bogart, yetI found this far more interesting. Despite a running time of 3 hours I found myself pretty engaged even though most of story played out inside the haberdashery.
The cast was superb, especially Jackson and Goggins. The rest were grand. but I particularly liked those two, I know what to expect from Samuel L ,,,for my money, he's always great. But Goggins was a discovery for me, he was really my favorite actor in the film and I'm surprised his performance wasn't rewarded.

If he can turn Once Upon a Time in Hollywood into a novel then anything is possible.

Such a scam that they filmed this Ultra Panavision 70mm. Damn thing was filmed in a room in some studio, more suited for a play on stage off off broadway. What a waste. Just a scheme to get people to shell out more money to view this awful film.

Your whole point is lost here. A waste? All those beautiful mountains and rivers were so magnificent. Did you even see all it captured?

No, I think I blinked and missed it. Give me a break. You need 70mm to see mountains? They've been digitally added magnificently to movies like the Beach, Brokeback Mountain, etc. What a lame gimmick. Glad I wasn't dumb enough to fall for that scam and pay to see this hot garbage.

In the beginning of this project, somebody leaked the screenplay and QT said he would not be making this movie.

But he decided to try it out as a stage play -- one night only -- in Los Angeles, with a celebrity/mogul audience.

I believe the cast was almost identical to the movie, except somebody else played Daisy.

The play got raves...so QT decided to make the movie after all.

So..this HAS been a stage play.
