I know in Broadchurch it was Miller? and Hardy, how were they on that show?
Similiar. Hardy mellowed on Broadchurch which never really happened to Carver on Gracepoint. As a result Hardy and Miller are much more of a team by the end of Broadchurch than Carver and Miller are at the end of Gracepoint (of course BC Miller wasn't covering up her son's involvement in Danny's murder which might make a difference.)
If you enjoyed Gracepoint, the best chance you have is to watch Season 2 of Broadchurch which starts in early February in the US on BBCAmerica. I'd also try to check out season 1 of Broadchurch in the meantime, though not a lot is different.
Sometimes the only choices you have are bad ones... But you still have to choose.

They really botched it. In the Broadchurch finale you really saw the sheer toll of burden of responsibility on Hardy as he had to leave the interrogation room to tell Ellie and then walk over to the front door of the house to inform the family. In Gracepoint they immediately cut to Carver sitting on the sofa at a peculiar camera perspective. The family at the centre of the drama became suddenly perfunctory. The producers chose to emphasise other aspects and it didn't work. Especially Ellie as a Lady Macbeth character.
