Question from a potential interested viewer...
I read in a mag that viewers of Broadchurch would like this show. My husband and I loved Broadchurch. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

I agree with what some others said, I liked this much better than Broadchurch. The acting and writing are extraordinary.
shareThank you for your opinions everyone! I think I will have to check this out now :)

Yeap, another Broadchurch fan here who thinks this is better. Much more intense.
shareAnd much more natural paced. Broadchurch is contrived that the very end of the episode is meant to leave you hanging, like 24. Happy Valley has a much different pace and flow, very natural. I remember reading one review where it commented how the dialogue in Happy Valley is representative of how people actually speak to each other, and it said something like, "It's the only show where one woman says to another, 'text me when you get home' and she's not about to be murdered by a cabbie." LOL!

Broadchurch has a mediocre plot, but very solid casting, which keeps it fairly engaging.
Happy Valley has a mediocre plot, with mediocre casting, and is soul-crushingly dull.

WORDS MEAN THINGS! Also, before you come to bitch about a plot hole, rewatch the show/movie.
Gotta love imdb trolls.
