S2, How Did the Police Not Immediately Suspect (SPOILERS)....

John Wadsworth in the Murder of Vicky Fleming? They suspected she was not a victim of the serial murderer and upon investigating her phone records they would have seen a slew of calls back and forth between her and Wadsworth. Likely text messages too which would be more revealing. The lead detective makes mention of finding Wadsworth's # in her account as though it was a once or twice call from way back which was shrugged off after Wadsworth made up some lie about it. Seems he would have been the prime suspect as soon as her body was identified. Also I don't know how big that community is but has a small town appearance where usually everyone knowns what everyone is up too. Especially affairs.

Having just watched Season 3, I believe it was mentioned that they suspected that John (Kevin Doyle) used a burner cell phone and it could have been left to burn in her house, along with her computer. It was glossed over, really like covering an oopsie. I wondered that, too.
