Things I learned from this movie

-'94 RV's have excellent AC built-in
-UV does not penetrate a windshield
-Desert air temperature stops at shadows
-3 cans of food are ample supply for a cross country trip. Drinking is optional.
-Only very mild ransacking and looting occurred around the extinction level event.
-Never mind incompatible hardware, AI, aha, "finds a way.."
-Robots learn to walk from one short demonstration yet are lousy drivers after hours of watching someone drive.
-Theres plenty of gas left after 10 years since the fall of civilization. Just cruise and cruise through the desert! All it takes is a little splash from the jerrycan!
-Stop motion is very much alive and as unconvincing as ever.
-Tom Hanks needs his paychecks just like you and me.
-Got Blender? Apple wants to buy your films!

reply

-the first use of the AI you've built for taking care of your dog is to predict the weather
-even though there are pockets of civilisation, nobody knows how to use radios anymore, it's tucking postcards to bridges instead
-to get a few metres through the sunlight to your RV, you need the full suit including cooling apparatus
-some bad entity with clearly enough supplies drives for hours and hours (and back) to follow someone - for what?

reply

Radios are a dangerous hobby in a world where half of the people you meet will shoot you for a can of beans. You do NOT want to use radios in such a scenario.

reply

the water supply wasn't mentioned from what i remember.

-robots speak naturally like Borat

reply

HAHAHAHA, actually had to check and see who did the voice, since I had the same impression!

reply

I think I heard him say a soler flare caused it

reply

What makes you think Borat isnt a robot?

reply

UV does not actually penetrate a windshield. Especially one with laminated heating panels in it (they block a lot of things, including GPS).

Its not air temperatures that damaged him, its UV from sunlight. Yes it was portrayed in a stupid way.

He clearly fills canisters of water from his base before leaving. Also 3 cans of food is all he had and went scavenging along the way.

Well, a true AI, presumably, can reprogram itself to make itself compatible with hardware.

Most humans are lousy drivers even after years of experience.

The RV was solar povered (what with the two solar collectors on the roof). But yes, actually, if stored properly gas can survive 10 years.
