do they use a real robot or a fake one or cgi?

would it be groundbreaking if they used a real one that had it's lines programmed in? i think kubrick wanted to make a.i with a real robot boy.

CGI, with Caleb Landry Jones wearing the CGI suit with all the little balls all over it, and presumably on his head too.

you still wont be doing recordings of the lines from robot but use the original audio files in mixing. Would be good for actor cues but then the human standin can probably do that too.

What would be pretty hard is to make a real robot do the aerobics Jeff did. We got walking robots and running robots, sure. Not one that can do a pirouette jump though.
