Saw it tonight at 7:20. 11 people in the theater. Audience was mostly adults with two families that had kids in the mix.

Trailers:
The Circle
Gifted
Going In Style
A Dogs Purpose
Monster Trucks
Smurfs

Theater was pretty quiet. The Tina Turner joke got some chuckles. One lady sitting behind me was sniffling throughout the entire movie. Lots of sniffles towards the end and the lady behind me was audibly crying.

I loved it! One of my favorites of the year.

9/10

Saw it at 1:40pm today, I'd say at least 20 people were in the theater. A few teenagers (13-15) two or three kids (younger than 10) and the rest were adults (some accompanied the teenagers, and the kids were with their mother or father)

Trailers:

Monster Trucks
Going In Style
Before I Fall
A Dog's Purpose
The Zookeeper's Wife
(I don't know the rest, I came late to get food)

The audience was pretty quiet throughout the movie. There were a few chuckles (most notable was when Conor asked his dad why mom married him, and he said, "because I'm handsome"

During the emotional scenes, many of the teenagers (girls) kept whispering "this is so sad!" Towards the end where he is saying goodbye, the audience was sniffing hardcore. One man was clearing his nose (which was loud and gross, but it was obvious he was crying a lot. When Conor was found destroying his grandmother's living room, everyone gasped, and whispered, "oh man.." A mother was crying during many of the scenes while her child was bored out of his mind. Me? I was crying a ton. After the movie ended, a teenage girl hugged her father for a long time. The girl was still crying as her father held her. Overall, everyone cried.

Saw it at 9:55pm tonight (Sunday). I was the only one in the theater but I thought it was great.

Saw it today at 11:20 am. Cheap $6 show. There was one other guy in the theater. Shame. Trailers were The Zookeeper's Wife, A Dog's Purpose, something with Emma Watson and Tom Hanks that looked good (The Choice, maybe?), and kiddie nonsense like Smurfs and Monster Trucks.

Therein lies the problem I think this movie faced st the box office. No one knew what to make of it. People either thought it was BFG/Groot whatever, or an emotional, adult story. Obviously, it's the latter, but it was released in a crap time of year to be a crossover hit.

In any event, I loved it. I was in tears the last 20 minutes, probably.
