I agree. I understand why this movie didn't appeal to many people, but at the same time I wish it had gotten a little more attention. I hope that the fact that so many people don't like sad movies doesn't impact it's chances to be nominated. It deserves it. It really is an impressive film. It kinda blew me away. It handled the material perfectly and very realistically. The emotional roller coaster Connor went through was so incredibly spot on. Lewis MacDougall killed it. He's got potential to be one of the best actors of this generation if he keeps it up. I was so impressed.
Although the odds are small, I agree with pretty much all your picks, except I think Sigourney Weaver should get the Best Supporting Actress nod. I felt just as much for the Grandma as I did Connor. There is no weak link. Everyone did a phenomenal job. I would add Best Director as well. J.A Bayona is shaping up to be one of my favorite directors very quickly.
One kind of a side not, my only complaint is that they cut his friend Lily out of the movie. Not sure why they did that. It would have been nice to know that despite all the misery, Connor at least had one friend, but that doesn't effect the quality of the film in the least bit.
