Who was the better "Mrs. Hubbard", Michelle Pfeiffer or Lauren Bacall?
The 1974 film and the 2017 film show the same character having the same basic actions, but a VERY different personality. Which do you prefer?
The main difference is at the finale, where the Pfeiffer character is broken, unmasked, and confessing, while the Bacall version was steely-eyed and iron-
willed throughout, and triumphant at the very end. I greatly prefer the 1974 "Mrs. Hubbard" played by Lauren Bacall, from the moment she first glimpsed Poirot she knew she was in for a battle of wits against a formidable opponent, and she kept the battle up through the whole film. She was awesome.
