Not A Good Day At The Beach ...

... I'll have to check on that bogus 5.2 rating in a few months and see how low it gets.

Wasn't expecting much and was not disappointed. Cheesy flick with bad acting, bad effects, etc.

Even more horrifying than the sand monster is Jamie Kennedy who stops the movie dead as an unfunny doofus beach patrol guy looking for drugs. More stupidity ensues.

When Jamie Kennedy is the big draw of your movie, you know you are in trouble.

Idk I though Jamie Kennedy's scene was pretty funny actually. "Who put fat Albert in the can??" Pretty weak movie overall but I've definitely seen much worse. For a straight to DVD movie I was quite surprised by how much I enjoyed certain scenes. Too bad there was so much holding it back from being good. Like the cheesy love triangle they kept forcing us to care about for one..

The doofus is in fact the most realistic element in this movie...
Story reminds of a dozen other beach monster movies, but most notably of Stephen King's shortstory The Raft. After that ink black pearl I suffered a bad case of insomnia.
