This looks like....

...a balls out rip-off of The Thing, Leviathan and Deep Star Six.

You could say that about every single Quentin Tarantino movie ever made, or you could go and look up homage and pastiche and get over yourself because it's entirely clear that Harbinger Down is homage and pastiche rather than rip-off. If you want to see a ripoff, go here:

Wherever you go, go quietly.

You clearly don't have a brain.

What's the difference between "homage" as you call it, and ripoff?

I could also say Tranmorphers is not a Transformers ripoff but a homage and pastiche as you call it. No difference from your dumb arguments.

There is a difference between a rip-off (check out most Asylum releases http://www.theasylum.cc/) and sharing themes/genres (e.g. a western, an alien invasion, World War II movies).

Personally, I love 'Alien' and 'The Thing'. This is one of my most anticipated movies this year.

You can't palm off a second-rater on me. You gotta remember I was in the pink!

No, you *****. You don't have a brain. Don't come up with lame excuses.

Not sharing themes/genres at all.

Themes/genres is SCI-FI. Nothing more. Themes can be sci-fi, horror, comedy, etc.

They share the theme SCI-FI but that fact doesn't make it a ripoff.

You need to have a brain to realize the huge list of things they copied, that is what makes it a ripoff.

Well... I believe I heard Gillis say that the idea was to make a sequel to The Thing, but they had to change enough to avoid get sued.
To me a ripoff is closer to a cash in, even if it's an official sequel. I can't remember how many times I've been ripped off by the "original" creators (cough... companies).
This is clearly a work with the heart in the right place...

reply

You coming up with excuses only proves the point further that this is a The Thing ripoff.

Exactly what I thought watching the trailer: it's a The Thing ripoff.
