Is anybody else as excited for this movie as I am?

Practical effects, monster movie, similarities to The Thing.

I really haven't been this excited about a movie since The Thing (2011). And considering this movie was made around the premise of the viability of Practical Effects, I don't see how I can possibly be completely disappointed.

Yes i'm really excited as well, I hope this project will get more resonance soon. I stumbled over it, while watching this:

Than i was on kickstarter(this project is mainly produced due groundfunding) to spent a few bucks, but it reached its aimed amount already, which btw was just 350.000$! I'am just happy that it will be realised!

The full one hour interview of this film was also available on youtube, but couldn't find it anymore. But this instead:

He's a realy nice, sympathetic and smart guy and worked with a lot great directors on amazing projects for decades that I have no doubts he will pull this off!

We have to do more advertising for this project! Tell everyone, even if ther're not intressted!
Just one thread and now 3 posts about it...thats sad.

You really don't have to remember anything about the budget. The producers / directors have gone on record saying they used a lot of their own money to make the film on top of the Kickstarter campaign. Not that it matters because the budgets of most movies are lies that either account for too much or don't account for enough or are borderline money laundering lies.

With no-name actors and this being a labor of love, not a labor of money, the budget doesn't matter. Especially considering the practical effects that have already been shown in marketing, which look excellent.

People are too obsessed with budget these days. Movie budgets don't mean squat.

It is very promising. I really did not mind the 2011 version of "The Thing" until I saw the practical effect work pre-CGI treatment. With Gillis behind this, I feel at bare minimum, we will get what that movie should have been.

I'm looking forward to seeing this film. Big fan of both practical effects and Lance Henriksen.

I'm a totally bitchin' bio writer from Mars!

Me too... Can't wait to see the finished product!

Has anybody heard news about a release date?

Yes, this is my most anticipated movie of 2014. It will be good to see practical SFX. CGI has it's place, as one tool in the SFX tool kit. So many directors don't appear to realise this, and rely solely on CGI.

Look forward to seeing this on the big screen.

Well, now its on my most anticipated movie of 2015 list!

You can't palm off a second-rater on me. You gotta remember I was in the pink!
