Terrible actress. She overacted every line, even before the plot gets going and she's supposed to be frightened. She overacted with a sleeping mask over her eyes and no lines. Excruciatingly painful to watch.
I have to say though that the professor character struck me the same way--not acting like a professional scientist/academic or an adult.

The actress's name was Giovonnie Samuels and there was one weak moment that bothered me about her acting but she was not alone in not delivering lines poorly as Camille Balsamo who was the lead in this movie also was weak on one occasion for sure also. I thought the rest of the cast was solid though and really the acting overall for the entirety of the movie didn't ruin it at all. I think this was a pretty darn good horror film. Also I believe the ship did not sink so there could be room for another movie and they can improve upon what was wrong with this which wasn't much.

Oh god stop virtual signaling and just tell us what her name is already.... Oh you had to look it up cause they only said her name like once? Even doc (Thats the black guy by the way) refers to her only by saying "whats a sister doing here on a crab boat". Seems to me like this movies not very big on names.
