Enough with this Hollywood fan fiction: UNBELIEVABLE ROLE FOR WOMAN

With too many years and experience in the military to count, plus possessing general common sense it's just too difficult for me to suspend belief in watching an HRT trained character being played with such implausible unbelievability. The fact that this character was a woman was tough enough to get past but, I've seen the occasional woman keep up with the best of the best (very very rare 1/2 of 1%) but adding up all the story flaws together with the decision to go with this actress who may be 100-110 lbs. displaying all kinds of emotional and physics weakness just tipped the scales to the realm of far comedy for me. And I actually like this actress.
Is this Mockingjay Hunger Games? Put this film in the genre of science fiction fantasy.

Awww Zip it. This isn't a documentary, it's a work of fiction. I always love you genius' who come in here whining a movie is real enough for your tastes.

querty: you are another example of how the internet is giving space for an echo chamber of rude, jerks. The indirectness and anonymity of this website allows guys like you to flippantly say ignoramous things you wouldn't say to someone, like me, in person. & Your mom taught you better. If I were a kid I would insult and threaten you myself but you knuckleheads just sit at the computer, hiding and feeding off of cesspool behavior.
Ok,so you dig chicks with guns who can fight 5 men and stuff and you like zombie movies and all the other stuff that goes along with it. Check. Whatever 'dude.' You've been judged and found wanting. Just go about your day. You're ignored by me.

Why would anyone be afraid to speak their mind to a rainbow colored hair, goony bearded fat man with hipster glasses desperate for female attention?

Were you crying when you wrote that? LOL

Unless you were in the FBI I don't think you have any particular insight. I didn't hear any claim that she was hrt.

Are all female FBI field agents 180lb hand-to-hand combat master bull dykes? No. Could some (of these non-bull dyke agents) be involved in something like this? Yes.

She was obviously outclassed by the ex-military mercs, the film made no bones about that.

As another poster mentioned, it is just a film. But it is also important that she be fragile. I do agree, I would have preferred a woman more confident in a physical and combat capacity, and in the company of her colleagues, who was then thrust into another very hostile masculine world which she could not, and would not want to conform to.

This was I think the intent, but not the effective result.

"Unless you were in the FBI I don't think you have any particular insight."

Not true. FBI SWAT is very similar to the military, specifically special operations in my regards. The OP is correct in everything he said. The character is ridiculous and how was written is horrible.

reply

"in my regards" so does that mean you are FBI SWAT, or military?

I'm sure their weapons training, and tactics are similar... I doubt very much they go through anything as rigorous physically, and particularly the kind of ex-military they would have sought for the mission in to Mexico...

I thought they were just FBI agents that were tasked with a clear, rather than a specialised unit. I didn't have a particular issue with her being less than brutish, although I thought the way she was foreground by events in the house was pretty weak.

Thing is the film required her to be vulnerable/fragile, and they played that card too soon.

In my own country most armed incidents are resolved by normal cops, or cops that have signed of for some additional training. They look the part, act the part, but a comparison to the military would be laughable. They are not a specialised unit. There are diplomatic protection squads, and they do the elite stuff, if there were ever terrorists etc, not just some arse with a shotgun shooting passing cars. These would have former SAS etc.

She was written realistically

reply

She's not from the military, she's an FBI agent (she even said that she's no soldier).
She looked perfectly fine to me as an FBI agent.

And in the trivia section it says that she based her character on one of four female FBI agents she trained with or talked with.
