Johann Johannsson on the soundtrack

I really enjoyed Villeneuve teaming up with Johannsson again on the sound track as they did for Prisoners. Deep, dark and almost demonic sounding tracks throughout the film really stirs up tension and fear. Compliments the tone perfectly.

Agree. Can't remember a single note from it but it fits the movie like a character in the story. That's what filmmusic is supposed to do. Be a part of the story

There are Teams out there... The Nolan/Zimmer, QT/Morricone, Coen Bros/T.Bone Burnett, Fincher/Reznor.... You get my point. They just compliment each other in a way the completes the Cinematic Experience. Others like Scorsese, whom uses Rock/Blues etc and of course Kubrick with his MASTERFUL use of Classical Music in which he layered it in The Shining, creating some of the oddest most disturbing sounds I've ever heard(Think the music during the River of Blood as an example.) Point is, it's CRUCIAL. Villenueve puts effort into every ounce of his films and boy oh boy, did it work here. Deakins beautiful Cinematographer with JJs score pounding away, getting more and more heavy as the crew progresses... That IS Movie Magic. Cinema
